SHY Community Guidelines
Be real. Respect the person on the other side.
SHY is for people looking for genuine connection. These standards apply to profiles, messages, plans, and conduct connected to SHY, whether it happens on or off the app.
These guidelines work alongside the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Safety at SHY. Last updated August 11, 2026.
What SHY expects
- Be an adult and be yourself. You must be 18 or older. Use an account that represents you; do not impersonate someone, misrepresent material profile information, or create accounts for others.
- Respect consent and boundaries. Communicate with care. A connection, match, or past conversation never creates an obligation to respond, meet, or share anything.
- Keep SHY free from harassment and hate. Do not threaten, bully, stalk, shame, sexually harass, or target someone on the basis of identity, background, belief, disability, or any protected characteristic.
- Do not exploit people. Scams, financial requests, coercion, blackmail, extortion, trafficking, and attempts to manipulate someone for money or access are prohibited.
- Protect privacy. Do not publish or threaten to publish another person’s private information, intimate images, or conversations without permission. Do not use SHY to collect or sell personal information.
- Keep content and plans lawful and safe. Do not share illegal, violent, sexually explicit, or exploitative content; promote illegal activity; or use SHY to endanger children or others.
- Use the service as intended. Do not spam, run unauthorized automation, scrape the service, evade a restriction, or misuse reporting tools.
Reporting and enforcement
Use the in-app report and block controls, or contact [email protected], when conduct breaks these rules. SHY may review the relevant account or content and take proportionate action, including a warning, removal, feature restriction, suspension, or account removal.
We do not promise a particular outcome or response time. If a situation involves immediate danger or a crime, contact local emergency services or the appropriate authority first.
Appeals
If you believe SHY made an account decision in error, use the appeal path in your notification or contact [email protected] with the subject “Suspension Appeal.” An appeal does not guarantee reversal, but it gives us the information needed to review the decision.
