Copyright & intellectual property

Respect for creative work.

SHY respects intellectual-property rights and expects members to do the same. This page explains how to report infringement and what happens next.

Reporting infringement

If you believe content on SHY infringes a copyright or other intellectual-property right you own or represent, email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright notice", or write to SHY Technologies LLC, 5310 Martin Luther King Blvd, Kinloch, MO 63140, United States.

What a complete notice includes

What happens next

We review complete notices and remove or disable access to material we determine to be infringing. Where appropriate, we notify the member who posted it and identify the reported material.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address including: identification of the removed material and where it appeared, your name, address, and email, a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief the removal was mistaken, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the United States, a district where SHY may be found), and your signature. Where the law provides, material may be restored if the original reporter does not initiate a court action within the statutory window.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights are terminated in appropriate circumstances.

Misuse of this process

Knowingly false infringement reports can carry legal liability. Do not use this process for disputes that are not about intellectual property — for impersonation or harassment, use the in-app reporting tools and the Community Guidelines.
