SHY terms of service

Be real. Be respectful. Stay safe.

These terms set out the rules for using SHY. They apply when you access the website or app and should be read with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use SHY. Keep your account information accurate, protect your account credentials, and do not create an account for someone else. You are responsible for activity on your account and for telling us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

Using SHY responsibly

Use SHY lawfully and treat other people with respect. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, scam, send unsolicited commercial messages, upload unlawful content, or use automated systems to access the service without permission. The Community Guidelines explain these expectations in more detail.

Connections and real-world plans

SHY provides tools that can help people discover one another, communicate, and consider a next step. We do not guarantee a connection, a response, a date, a relationship, or the conduct of another person. Make your own decisions about communication and in-person meetings, and use the safety tools when needed.

Safety, reporting, and moderation

Use the app’s reporting and blocking tools when needed. SHY may investigate reports and remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create a safety risk. If you believe an account decision is wrong, use the appeal path in your notification or email [email protected]. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Your content

You retain rights in the content you share, subject to the permissions needed for SHY to host, display, and operate the service. You are responsible for having the rights to share your content and must not post another person’s private information or intimate content without permission.

Paid services

Where SHY offers a paid feature or subscription, the price, billing cadence, renewal terms, and any available cancellation information will be shown before you purchase. Payments are processed through the relevant third-party payment provider. Additional purchase terms may apply at checkout.

Service changes and disputes

We may update, improve, limit, or discontinue parts of the service. We may update these terms from time to time and will provide any notice required by law. For a dispute, contact support first so we can try to resolve it. The dispute process shown in the app at the time of your acceptance applies to the extent permitted by law.
