Vision

The relationship is the center.

SHY helps people discover the people, relationships, experiences, places and communities that make life better — and gives those relationships a place to grow. Dating is the entry point. The relationship is the asset.

The problem we're solving

A modern relationship lives across ten disconnected apps: one to meet, one to message, one to find something to do tonight, one for events, one for groups, one to plan, one to remember. The moment two people actually connect, every existing product loses interest in them. Dating apps in particular have a strange incentive: if they work, you leave.

SHY inverts that. Success isn't the end of the product — it's the beginning of the next phase. The funnel isn't match and done; it's discover → connect → converse → meet → experience → build → grow.

What SHY is today

The live product covers the first arc of that journey, built on mechanics you can read about in plain language:

Five intentions, one system

Human connection is bigger than romance, so SHY is organized around five intentions rather than one:

Couples are a first-class market

When two people become a couple on SHY, they don't age out of the product — they become its second act. The couple becomes a unit of participation: shared plans in Together, date discovery, and — as we build — couple-to-couple connection. "We want another couple to grab dinner with" is a real social need no swipe app serves.

The road ahead

Beyond the live core, we are building toward a fuller relationship ecosystem — described here as direction, not as shipped product:

What SHY will never become

The vision is bounded by the same principles as the product. SHY will not become a swipe casino, an engagement-bait feed, an ad marketplace wearing relationship branding, or a product that charges people to be seen. Paid options change convenience — never ranking, and never other people's view of you. Read the operating principles every mechanic answers to.
